Explorer trip in Greece

As soon as we landed in Tessaloniki, we headed north, directly to the border with North Macedonia. Past chestnut, apple and peach trees to Zervi, to the Kerasies launch site (also known as Voras and Edessa) in the middle of Greece's winter sports paradise. 

The view over the plain and the lake is fantastic, the take-off conditions on the huge alpine meadow perfect and the landing on the runway from the old airfield with its white markings on the black tar spectacular. - Thanks to Kevin for the ice-cold landing beer, it was the crowning glory of a perfect day!

After three days, we headed further south. Past the monasteries of Meteora - James Bond sends his regards. Shaken not stirred, the group demonstrated their skills with an active flying style on the 27 km long ridge - those who had had enough of dirty dancing simply flew out onto the seemingly endless plain, where the charming Claudia was usually already ready with the retrieve.

In the evening, the outstanding flying achievements were celebrated over an aperitif right in front of the spectacular rock faces of Meteora and discussed over a delicious, authentic dinner after viewing the unique rock formations. Simply wonderful moments!

In order to make the most of the last few days of flying, we headed towards Mount Olympus by the sea in familiar territory. On the hunt for the most beautiful cumulis, the group rocked Mount Olympus in “sexy conditions” (© Stelios) and finally landed directly on the beach with a huge smile on their faces.

But not only in terms of flying, there was also one culinary highlight after another.

Evening after evening, we dined like Zeus, Poseidon and Hera - Greek cuisine at its finest in the most beautiful ambience. Greek salads, saganaki (crispy fried feta cheese), tsatziki, moussaka, yemista, charter (wild vegetables), louloudia (zucchini flowers stuffed with rice), shrimps or a huge fish for half the group, souvlaki and lamb chops, ... . The wine lovers also served selected white and red pearls from the regions and, if you like, an ouzo at the end :-)

What a great trip with a fantastic group! As André couldn't have put it more aptly: “From the old hand to the experienced stretch flyer to the newcomer, everything was there and some personal records were rewritten. Many thanks to all of you, because you made the trip what it is, unforgettable.”

Finally, a huge compliment to charming Claudia and sexy Stelios. With over 30 years of experience, they never tire of finding the best possible take-off spot for their guests, day after day - nobody flies more in Greece.
