Adventures in Ticino!
It is difficult for me to name the absolute highlight of this trip. Was it the legendary barbecue evenings that formed the culinary centerpiece of our experiences? Or the cheerful participants who created a great atmosphere during the week? Perhaps it was also the unforgettable experiences at the numerous flying sites we were able to visit. Ultimately, it is the combination of all these elements that makes the adventure so special.
We learned that low-pressure weather also offers opportunities. We flew the Cimetta and experienced spectacular flights with breathtaking views over Locarno, Parüsciana and Mornera, which offered us fantastic perspectives of Bellinzona. Monte Lema surprised us with excellent thermals, and the Cima di Medeglia offered us the opportunity for some brisk valley wind soaring. We also had the opportunity to hone our groundhandling skills in the north wind in Malvaglia.
Ticino gave us many gifts - not only with the planned adventures, but also with spontaneous experiences, such as an unintentional tandem flight with a scorpion. And not forgetting the culinary highlights with Ticino specialties. With suitcases full of positive impressions, it was difficult for us to make our way back to the rain of the north after an intensive week.
